The key to swimming really is to relax. I've taught people who thought they would drown if they ever took a bath to swim lengths. You just have to realise a million years ago you used to actually have a tail and eat fish! lol (does that help?) Anyways - being relaxed and realising it takes like 3-4 mins underwater to drown might put some perspective on the 2 seconds you might have water up your nose or in your eyes. And once you get started that relaxation will help your technique to slide through the water instead of fighting it all the time. :-) GOOD LUCK!
